Rare and highly unusual UK Columbia pressing – white labels on BOTH discsOffered here is a particularly interesting copy of David Oistrakh performing Tartini’s “Devil’s Trill” Sonata, with Vladimir Yampolsky, issued on Columbia 33CX 1415.This is not a conventional blue-and-gold label copy. Both records have white labels, with one disc additionally carrying a blue HMV over-stamp. The labels also feature handwritten credits/details in red biro, making this an unusually intriguing example for the Columbia/EMI collector.Matrix / stamper detailsSide 1: XAX 904-3N — 1GSide 2: XAX 905-1N — 2GThe early XAX matrix numbers and unusual white-label presentation make this a particularly collectible example of this recording.ConditionRecords: Glossy and well-preserved visually. Both discs play at approximately EX overall, with the exception of one track which plays VG. Please judge from the description rather than expecting a mint/unplayed copy.Labels: White labels as described above, including the distinctive blue HMV over-stamp on one disc and handwritten red-biro credits/details.Sleeve: GOOD overall. Original sleeve with tears and creasing. The sleeve has clearly seen use and is being described conservatively.A note to collectorsThe white-label/test-pressing nature of this copy makes it substantially more unusual than the standard commercial issue.
