NEAR MINT LP 1978 NO RESERVE
DAVID "Honeyboy" EDWARDS
I'VE BEEN AROUND
TRIX RECORDS 3319
"...one of the few surviving links between the older styles of Mississippi country blues and present trends in the music in the city of Chicago." Today the Blues world is well aware of Honeyboy Edwards, incredibly a man that knew Robert Johnson and Charley Patton... and a man whose recording fame came into being with this LP. "...in 1942 he recorded twenty-two selections for the Library of Congress as a result of an Alan Lomax field-trip passing through Clarksdale, Mississippi..." According to Amy O'Neal of Living Blues, "This album is the first full American LP release under his (Edwards') own name!" At this point in time, the reasons for this neglect are incomprehensible. Anyway, this injustice has been thankfully corrected!
the tracks: PONY BLUES, SAD & LONESOME, HAMBONE BLUES, RIDE WITH ME TONIGHT, I'M A COUNTRY MAN, BANTY ROOSTER, TAKE ME IN YOUR ARMS, YOU'RE GONNA MISS ME, I FEEL SO GOOD TODAY, THINGS HAVE CHANGED, BIG FAT MAMA, EYES FULL OF TEARS, THE WOMAN I'M LOVING, BIG ROAD BLUES
The condition of the LP is near mint. The condition of the cover is excellent.
** if you are a Blues collector, you will find we are putting hundreds of vintage blues LPs up for auction over the coming year. My husband is grudgingly downsizing his massive collection which he has acquired over the past 40 years and you should find these listings worth considering. Because he was the only owner of these LPs and he had too many to listen to, they were played very, very little and are all in excellent condition. Mark this site as a 'favorite seller' or email if you have any questions, and thanks for looking!
