Description
DAVID CROSBY
If I Could Only Remember My Name
LP
If you're looking for a copy of this in top condition, look no further! Both record and sleeve are in very collectable condition - you won't be disappointed.
First pressing on the plum and maroon label with Matrix numbers A1 and B1. The glossy black heavyweight vinyl has 'paper' lines visible under a strong light, but no scratches. The Gatefold sleeve I rate as excellent with no rips, creases or writing.
With the help of a great cast of players including Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Graham Nash, members of both the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane, Crosby produced one of the great (but criminally under-appreciated) masterpieces of the era. "If I Could Only Remember My Name" is a free floating record that perfectly encapsulates the late sixties/early seventies California country/folk rock movement, but also transcends the movement completely to almost stand alone, as all great art has the ability to do. Graham Nash summed up the album most succinctly when he described it as "the perfect organic listening experience".
DAVID CROSBY plus Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Graham Nash - vocals / Jerry Garcia - guitar / Phil Lesh - bass / with Grace Slick / Paul Kantner / Dave Frieberg / Ethan Crosby / Micky Hart / Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady
