VERY RARE!
12 TOP HITS FROM THE AVENUE CATALOGUE OF 1968
This superb 12 track album was manufactured in England by Tranco (Pye Records) at Mitcham in Surrey using 100% virgin vinyl and weighs 170 grams and is GUARANTEED UNPLAYED and perfectly flat.
This is from the era when record companies took pride in their manufactured product. The artists include the late, great DAVID BYRON (ex lead singer of Uriah Heep), PETER LEE STIRLING later known as DANIEL BOONE, and the renowned singer LOIS LANE originally part of the singing sensation of the early 60's known as the CARAVELLES.
This album is part of a collection of NEW AND UNPLAYED DISCS purchased 43 years ago by a Distribution Agent that were classed as surplus to requirements as there were no remaining laminated sleeves. The disc is in its ORIGINAL WHITE PAPER LINER from the year 1968. If it's the disc you are looking for then a laminated sleeve is superfluous, surely it's the music content you are after.
The 12 tracks on this album were taken from a cross section of hits that appeared on the AVENUE RECORDS 7" MINI DISC SERIES. The title track of HEY JUDE was an absolute masterpiece of its time, recorded at the City of London Recording Studios in London's East End with musical direction by the very talented ALAN CADDY, and the recording engineer of the highest repute BERNARD MATTIMORE.

Another classic track on this collection is the MARY HOPKIN song THOSE WERE THE DAYS, sung here by LOIS LANE. I'm sure you will agree it is a superb rendition of this most memorable song.
The quality of these recordings is just spectacular, being that they are budget cover versions of the period. So whether it be the sounds of THE BEACH BOYS, THE BEE GEES, TOM JONES or any of the other covers on this disc, it will surely take pride of place in a connoisseur's collection.
