DAVID BOWIE – “The Man Who Sold The World” (1970) Mercury-61326 Rare original pressing with cartoon cover and matrix numbers stamped in trail-off vinyl

An all-time classic rock album – definitely one of Bowie’s best. The problem is that it was counterfeited so extensively that it was pulled from production and later released on RCA in a different cover with a poster. This is the original pressing with the cartoon cover of the cowboy carrying a concealed shotgun walking in front of a church. The vinyl is the original pressing with the matrix numbers machine stamped (not hand etched) into the trail off wax – this is how you determine if it’s original or counterfeit. I have collected records for 25+ years, and this is only the second true original of this album I’ve ever seen – all of the others have been fakes!

Cover Condition: Strong VG+

Record Condition: M-

Condition Notes: The cover is in original shrink wrap but the lower left corner is a bit chewed (really not bad!). The vinyl is beautiful.

All records are original pressings. I do not sell any bootlegs or reissues.

CANADA: $9 for 1 record and $2 for each additional record.

PACKAGING

I package all LPs securely in record mailers and remove the vinyl from the covers to prevent seam splits during mailing. I do not just stick your record in a priority mailer box from the post office or between two thin pieces of cardboard with no additional packaging materials like so many others!!!
