   So many Heroes have left us the last couple of years, now Aretha, but this one hurt me the most. This is my special copy of David Bowie's last album, "Blackstar". Released on his 69th birthday, 01/08/16, I had pre-ordered this over a month before it came out. He passed away late Sunday 01/10/16. My wife was away taking care of her Dad post spine surgery, and I was home alone, reading emails on my phone when the banner popped up that he was gone. I spent that night alone listening to a stream of "Blackstar" on Napster, remembering falling in love with Bowie’s “Space Oddity” as a kid, hearing it often at night in St Charles MO on KSHE as I watched my brothers fancy new clock radio, for hours, flip new numbers every minute that passed (‘new’ technology then lol), then falling asleep on the couch, only to be awakened late morning by a knock on the door. It was UPS. My copy of "Blackstar" arrived less than 12 hours after he passed, on Monday morning 01/11/16, and I couldn't do anything but look at it, finally putting it back into the mailer, packed it away, unopened, until I recently unboxed it.

Many people who bought this special limited to 5000 copy Clear Vinyl release had rushed out to get it from Barnes and Nobles to make a buck, but fans like me had pre-ordered it as soon as we were notified from the davidbowie.com website. So this is a more rare copy from DB dot com. B&N  sold most copies due to a distribution deal for the ltd edt and lithographs. This comes with proof that it was ordered early and delivered on the morning after he passed. I am ONLY selling it because we are trying to make enough from eBay sales to open a record store in our town. I chose not to sell it in the weeks after his death, when it was sold out everywhere, clear or black vinyl, and people were paying $700 to $1000 a copy. But now we want to bring our used vinyl store to life, so hopefully David's death is gonna help us bring our store to life. It is STILL SEALED, it is the CLEAR VINYL copy, limited to 5000 but does not declare which copy it is on the outside, and it is the DIE CUT COVER.
