Description
For auction is an incredibly rare original and genuine first U.K. sample copy of David Bowie’s memorable single- The Laughing Gnome. Issued in 1967 on Deram label.
Most copies available on eBay- even those claiming to be first presses - are from the 1973 reissue. You can tell this is a genuine first issue by the upside down DR39799 on the labels. It also does not have the copyright date on the right of the label, which the reissue labels do. The fact it is a sample copy not for sale at the time makes it even rarer.
Deram paper sleeve in VG condition. These are very fragile but it is intact.
Record side one visually and sonically excellent with only a couple of small wispy sleeve removal marks. Side two is graded as EX+, as I can’t see any marks, even in very bright light.
This is a chance to own a superb condition example of a genuine piece of Bowie history.
