NOTES: Sleeve: Minor inner ring wear, slight outer record edge indication, and faint crease at bottom corner.
Record: Labels are perfect and vinyl has nearly unnoticeable scuffing.

David Bowie's "Time" picture sleeve is arguably the world's rarest and most desirable U.S. picture sleeve. It may be said that the Velvet Underground's "All Tomorrow's Parties" or the Beatles' "WMCA Good Guys" promo are harder to find, but in all my years of collecting (since 1973) I have never seen this sleeve in person (other than mine) and only seen it offered for sale twice.

When I purchased this sleeve in 1978 it was completely unknown to collectors and nobody knew it's true value. It had not appeared in print at the time and had never been documented anywhere. I was the first person to publish a photo of the sleeve in my 1998 book "Goldmine 45 RPM Picture Sleeve Price Guide." At the time I was writing the book, there were no sales to reference for it's true value.

The most recent auction took place February 2008 on Popsike and the final bid was $3,550.00. It's condition was also near mint but the Popsike sleeve had a pair of scratches on the sleeve's surface and the record was warped.

The "Time" picture sleeve is the jewel of my collection. Releasing this beauty has been a difficult decision to make. This now appears to be the right 'Time' in my life to let it go. With slight trepidation, I now offer for auction the U.S. picture sleeve for David Bowie's 1973 release "Time."
