Description

This is a very good copy of the first RCA issue of "The Man Who Sold the World" (it was first released on Mercury). It comes with the original lyric inner sleeve.
At no point does the record jump, stick or skip. The music is clear and undistorted. There is some surface noise detectable and there are two noticeable and consecutive pops on track one, at the very, very start. Please don't let that put you off, it sounds great and after all it is a used 46 year old record. But it has been well cared for. I have played it through twice over the last couple of days and the music comes through very clearly without any distortion.
It is a first RCA press, both sides are stamped ...1E, and the only other text is an etched A2 on both sides.
The Man Who Sold the World is the third studio album by English rock artist David Bowie. It was originally released in the United States by Mercury Records on 4 November 1970,and then in April 1971 in the United Kingdom. He recorded the album with producer Tony Visconti at Trident Studios in London and Advision Studios in West London.
The album's hard rock style was a departure from the largely acoustic music of Bowie's previous self-titled album. Though author David Buckley has described that record as "the first Bowie album proper", NME critics Roy Carr and Charles Shaar Murray have said of The Man Who Sold the World, "this is where the story really starts".
I have amended the price and there is no need for signed for postage as the value would be fully insured against loss or damage (i.e. £20). I always print eBay postage labels and get proof of posting at the main delivery office.
