DAVID BOWIE – Space Oddity b/w Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud (cat# BF-452)

AUSTRALIAN 1969 MONO 7” on blue and silver PHILLIPS label in original PHONOGRAM record company sleeve.
The Phillips MONO issue of “Space Oddity” is one of the rarest Australian BOWIE singles, and this version is arguably the RAREST of label variations. This is the FIRST error/misprinted version which prints the incorrect plate reference # “30420BF-1F” on the side 1 label. Apparently this was quickly corrected on subsequent labels: “304201BF-1F”
THE BAD NEWS: Unfortunately this impossibly RARE record has NOT been cared for properly, and displays considerable heavy scuffing all-over, which results in loud, audible crackle and popping throughout playback. However, both sides DO play through entirely without skipping or jumps.
I would grade this at best “FAIR CONDITION” by UK Record Collector standards.
The labels also have some very inconspicuous blue biro writing on them (hard to see, since it’s BLUE!)
