ORIGINAL UK RCA (BOW LP 2) FIRST PRESSING (September 1980) OF DAVID BOWIE'S "Scary Monsters" - AN END OF DECADE SUMMATION OF HIS 70s WORK ENCOMPASSING MAJOR TOM, GLAM AND BERLIN AVANT-GARDE - AND IT'S IN STUNNING, UNPLAYED CONDITION (the labels show no spindles or signs of use and the vinyl surfaces are unmarked and shine like new) AND THE AUDIO DELIVERY IS SENSATIONAL THROUGHOUT (with a fantastic loud cut) - A BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN PRESSING - GREAT COPY OF THIS SUPERB LP AND THEY DON'T COME MUCH BETTER THAN THIS - VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INDEED

David Bowie returned to relatively conventional rock & roll with Scary Monsters, an album that effectively acts as an encapsulation of all his '70s experiments.
Reworking glam rock themes with avant-garde synth flourishes, and reversing the process as well, Bowie creates dense but accessible music throughout Scary Monsters.
Though it doesn't have the vision of his other classic records, it wasn't designed to break new ground -- it was created as the culmination of Bowie's experimental genre-shifting of the '70s.
As a result, Scary Monsters is Bowie's last great album.
While the music isn't far removed from the post-punk of the early '80s, it does sound fresh, hip, and contemporary, which is something Bowie lost over the course of the '80s.

LABELS: Clean, bright and fresh labels with no spindle traces or signs of use - in my opinion this copy has never been played - MINT
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and are unmarked - MINT
VINYL Audio: Outstanding audio throughout with a crystal clear, deep, rich and detailed sound and a sensational loud cut - beautifully recorded and engineered and on playback at a very loud volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listing and this is one of Bowie's later LPs which is unjustly overlooked (even by me) but listing to it today it's a stunning piece of work) the audio delivery is flawless - this is a an exceptionally clean pressing and the run-ins and track divisions are silent (which in my experience is pretty rare for this LP) - critically graded a beautiful MINT for audio quality - fantastic copy and one very, very highly recommended indeed
SLEEVE: The cover is like new. Clean and unmarked with no wear to the edges or spine - where all text is clear and bold and as crisp and fresh as the day it was made - MINT
INSERT: The gatefold lyric insert is also MINT - clean, unmarked and untouched
