Description
Here's a chance to get a copy of DAVID BOWIE'S self titled LP or otherwise known as space oddity on the original UK Philips label from 1969
ARTIST: David Bowie
TITLE: S/T
VINYL CONDITION (VISUAL & PLAY GRADE): VG(+) & EX(-) The vinyl has retained its original sheen with hairlines and sleeve-removal marks (more on side one than side two), a few small, fine scratches and a couple of longer, more prominent lines visible on each side, but there is nothing bad anywhere.Although some of the marks can be seen in normal light, they are all superficial. There are NO marks on either side which are feelable and absolutely NO deep scratches VG(+). I have played the entire record and it sounds really good. There is some background surface noise and crackle which can be heard in some of the quiet parts(but not all) and the run-ins/outs, fades, silent grooves and intros and various places where you get a short-lived repetitive click (I counted 8 light clicks altogether on title track "Space Oddity" but the rest of the track played fine). Tracks like"Unwashed And Somewhat Slightly Dazed" "The Cygnet Committee" "God Knows I'm Good" "Memory Of A Free Festival' and 90% of the LP sounds Excellent (EX) if not better. This is NOT a copy for the audio-perfectionist, but it plays through perfectly with no jumps, skips or sticking and very little surface noise. It's still a pleasure to listen to. Taking into account the different gradings for each of the songs, overall, I would have no problem play-grading both sides Excellent Minus (EX-). Play graded on a Rega P3-24 deck. Denon amp.
SLEEVE CONDITION: EX(-) Matt gatefold sleeve has NO serious issues. See photos and use zoom-in. If you need any more info or would like to see more photos please contact me.
LABEL: Philips SBL 7912
MATRIX: 1Y/ 2Y
NOTES: Original 1st pressing of David Bowie's second LP. Not Mint, BUT A FAIRLY DECENT EXAMPLE OF A VERY RARE RECORD.

M- Record is perfect, looks like new. Sleeve and labels are in immaculate and flawless condition..
EX+ Record is near perfect, may be played only a few times. Sleeve and labels are in top condition.
EX Record, sleeve and labels are in excellent condition. Minimal irrelevant imperfections - nothing serious. Always handled with care with minor signs of use.
EX- Between VG+ and EX.
VG+ Record, sleeve and labels have signs of being played. Record has some visual light scuffs or light scratches. Sleeve shows light moderate wear or other light marks. No major defects. Record could have some surface spots or noises but it's still a strong listenable and collectible copy.
VG Record has many marks and surface noises, cover shows wear or other problems. No skips or jumps. Not for mint maniacs but still a decent copy.
