Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my 60’s beat and psych and some 70’s progressive records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare first U.K. pressing of David Bowie – David Bowie on the BLACK Philips label, cat. no. SBL 7912.
The record is in VG (+) condition, there are some non – sounding hairlines and scuffs, a tiny sounding mark at the start of the song “Space Oddity” which lasts about 20 revolutions. Further there is a tiny edge warp, but this does not affect the playing. The labels are in VG+ condition, there are some spindle marks and there is just very slight wear around the spindle hole on side 1.
The cover is in VG(+) condition, there is some light rubbing on the front, there is some slight ring wear and a price sticker on the back and on the opening edge is some light feathering and a tiny tear of bout 3 millimetres. In my opinion, although used, this cover still looks very presentable. Besides mentioned defects, there is no writing, no rips or tears or other unwanted damage.
Although this record is not in dream Mint condition, this original 1st U.K. pressing of David Bowie’s second album on Philips is almost impossible to find. I’ve played this album in full and besides the sounding mark on “Space Oddity” it plays very well, with some slight background noise and occasional pops. This album is a real must have for all David Bowie collectors, so this is your chance to complete your David Bowie collection! Happy Bidding!
