RONNIE HILTON

THE LAUGHING GNOME

1967 uk HMV Demo POP-1600. Here is a never see very rare original 1967 uk HMV Demo first pressing of this excellent David Bowie related pop/beat 45. The A-side has a very forgettable version of a song from the musical 'Fiddler On The Roof', but the B-side contains a really great version of Bowie's strangest ever 6os recording, that being the bizarre song 'The laughing Gnome'. Stock copies very rarely turn up for sale, but original Demo copies are pretty much impossible to find today. With this listing i have provided a complete MP3 of the B-side, this MP3s was taken directly from the vinyl. The pictures are of the actual 45 for sale. Please check out my other items!!

CONDITION = VERY GOOD

Both sides of the vinyl still have loads of original sheen. There are a couple of surface marks and scuffs at the beginning of the A-side, these cause just a few background clicks/pops and some crackle, the rest of the side plays through great with just some light crackle, the more important B-side is better with just a few light scuffs and some minute top surface hairlines, the B-side plays with light crackle and some light tics but it still sounds just great (Please listen to the MP3 provided). The Demo labels are in very good clean condition, and the original HMV records paper sleeve is in ok condition, but with a small bottom edge seem split and a tear around the centre hole of the back.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ BEFORE DECIDING TO BID

I pack my records very well with plenty of rigid card support to avoid damage. I keep all Post Office Payment Recipes as proof of postage. I always print my name and address on the back of all parcels i send, so the chances of a item going missing are pretty much nil. I cannot take responsibility for any non-insured items that may be unfortunate to go missing or get damaged in the post. The recorded post option is always there, it may cost a few extra pounds for international buyers, but it is definitely worth it for the extra piece of mind. So, if for some reason a non-insured parcel does not arrive, then i'm afraid that i cannot be held responsible for loss or damage. If you do not agree to this then please do not bid. Thank you.
