It is virtually impossible to locate one of these . Low test pressing in totally MINT condition . No stock sleeve comes with this LP just a gereric plain white card sleeve. The vinyl has been played maybe onece if at all . It says Side A on one side and simply has a blank white label on the other side . In 32 years of collecting I have never seen another .

I am selling another desirable Bowie Promo if you check my other items you will see I was asked a great question by some guy, Whats the difference between Stock or shop copies as opposed to Promos or test pressings .
So it applys here also, so here goes.
The difference between Promos and test pressings to normal pressing is huge , much more than a Stamp or Sticker or in this case , record label. When an Acetate is cut , it is sent to a Mastering Lab to be coated in Nichkol . The nichol is then peeled away from the acetate and that nichol stamper is called the MOTHER STAMPER .
At the mastering lab a very small amount of records are pressed from that mother stamper , they go forward to be called Promo LPs and Test Pressings. After all it would not be econimically feasable for record pressing plants to switch on their huge record pressing machines to press a few copies .
They are also made of a different material to vinyl . They contain a higher content of shellac , shellac is the very expensive material ingriedient used to make acetate cellulose laquer . Acetate is the highest quality one can achieve in terms of sound quality which is why they are so highly prized by collectors . After acetate it is the Shellac vinyl that is used to make promos and test pressings that sounds best ,that is why they are sent out to radio stations for broadcast. It is because of these very limmited runs from the Mother Stamper and the Shellac Vinyl that makes Promos and Test pressings sound so superior . Other stampers are then made from the mother and sent to record press factories , there is only one mother stamper .
Promos , and test pressings are RARE and desirable above is written the reasons why .
