What you have here is a VERY rare LP In Near Mint condition by David Bowie called 'Hunky Dory' and is an ORIGINAL 1971 UK 1st Pressing with the LAMINATED SLEEVE and on the 1st Press GLOSSY RCA label!!!!

This LP is often referred to as David Bowie's rarest album (rarer then the Deram album, or the Philips album) and here is why:

When this album was first released in 1971 it sold very poorly, and then deleted, becoming one of the rarest Bowie albums to find, it wasn't until September 1972 (when David Bowie had a bit more success) that this album was re-released, and the 1972 issue is the common one you see a lot, but that issue was completely different to the 100% original 1971 issue I have here, and here is how you can tell a true original 1972 FIRST PRESSING of this rare album:
The first thing you will notice is the cover is LAMINATED, and is also thicker and of much higher quality (only 100% true original 1971 first pressing had the laminated cover!!!), the second thing is the LABELS ARE SHINY (later ones were matt), and also have a different LABEL CREDIT for publishing and also there is NO MAINMAN credit anywhere on the sleeve, or labels, were as on the second pressing you will find MAINMAN credits, so you can tell this is a true original 1971 LAMINATED SLEEVE, and correct 100% original vinyl and even the lyrics insert bears the same credits as the first press vinyl, and sleeve !!!

So a quick re-cap: What you have here is a NEAR MINT 100% original 1971 first pressing of David Bowie's Hunky Dory album with the GLOSSY SLEEVE, GLOSSY LABELS, NO MAINMAN CREDIT, AND FIRST ISSUE ORIGINAL PUBLISHING CREDITS, with the FIRST PRESS ORIGINAL INSERT, you will not find a better copy of this rare album any time soon.

The album was unplayed until I played once to check for sound quality and there for will grade NEAR MINT!!!

Label Condition: Very close to MINT, There are NO spindle marks as far as I can see !!!

Mono or Stereo: Stereo (there were no Mono pressing).

Rarity: TRUE ORIGINAL 1971 First pressing LAMINATED COVER, Shiny Label, original credits in NM condition are near impossible to find now days.

Original Year of Release: 1971.

Matrix Nos:  APRS 5917 - 3T / APRS 5918 - 3T.

Cover Grade and Format: ORIGINAL LAMINATED SLEEVE IN EX+ condition, see below.

Cover Front: EX++ (No ring wear, sharp edges, full intact spine, and no feathering at opening, just slight area where lamination is slightly raised).

Cover Back: Minimum amount of ring wear, a conservative EX+++.

Top Edge: Virtually unworn.

Bottom Edge: Virtually unworn.

Right Edge(s): Clean, sharp with no wear.

Spine and Text: Solid and square with little wear up to the very last centimeter, text is perfect and unworn.

Corners: Barely any wear on the any corner.

Cover Summary: A superb all round example you will struggle to get any better, EX++ (or even higher).

Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: Mint-  A superb visual copy. Super clean, shiny, jet black and very solidly pressed, thicker than later pressings for sure. only one light paper sleeve mark that can only be seen under strong light, other wise looks like the day it was pressed, with NO SIGN OF ANY PLAYS.

Sound Quality and Audio Grading: This record plays like the day it was pressed MINT-.
