This is as close to audio perfection that you will find!  It is a FINAL UPGRADE without doubt and I have graded every track as either Mint or Mint- that's a measure of the sonic quality on offer here.  There are no ticks, clicks, pops or static and the clarity, depth and power of the audio is exceptional, never heard better.  The vinyl itself is stunning and has clearly hardly ever been played.  This is from the collection where the previous owner looked after his records so well and this is easily one of the best!  A classic album playing to the highest standard possible I would say.
The gatefold is in superb condition and it has retained its original shape and structure perfectly.  No spotting or staining (rare!) and only a minimal amount of 'print' marking on the front.  The lyric card inner is great condition and the 'complete' fan club insert has only some light creasing in a couple of corners.

Visual description
The vinyl is in beautiful condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no obvious marks or scratches.  There are just two tiny specks on S2 that have no affect on the superb audio.  Under a bright light light I can only see a small number of ultra faint hairlines that are of course 100% superficial.  Both sides really gleam and I do not think I have seen a cleaner version.  The run outs grooves are also extremely clean with no marking.  The orange RCA Victor labels are pristine with no marking or spindle wear.  A stunning example!
Play Grading
The intro on 'Watch That Man' plays to perfection and the opening vocal section is so close to that with just one mega quiet tick, you could easily miss it.  The first chorus is flawless and it continues to play with exceptional power and depth.  Actually the sonic quality is really impressive, it's a 'busy' track and I often find it doesn't play that clearly with some distortion issues but this version could not be any clearer.  Every vocal and instrumental section is stunning and the fade out has no background either.  This is easily a Mint- start to this classic album.
'Aladdin Sane' impresses on every level with sublime clarity throughout.  It is 'as new' I can pay it no higher compliment.  A strong bass line from Bolder and of course Garson's piano work is exemplary.  The very quiet closing section is another prime example of the clarity on offer here, there is not even a single dust tick or static sound.  It does not get any better than this - a phenomenal Mint version.
The intro on 'Drive In Saturday' has no background and Bowie's opening vocal is just as clean.  From then on it plays as per the previous two tracks - with a clarity, power and depth that cannot be faulted in any way.  Mint all the way.
Easily missed but the 'Panic In Detroit' intro does start very quietly for 1 or 2 seconds and yet there is no background.  As the track 'kicks in' the playback is so strong and clear and the opening vocal is flawless.  The clarity of sound again stands out and the choruses for once have no distortion on the top end.  From the first note to the last it plays with great power and definition and Mint is deserved.  No background on the fade out.  Again.  Seriously this is one STUNNING album so far!
The intro on 'Cracked Actor' is so deep and strong, it sounds fantastic!  The first verse and chorus are just as impressive and it continues in the same way.  If there is any inner groove distortion (being the final track) it is so minimal and totally non-intrusive.  In my opinion there is more of emphasis on instrumental passages on this album and they play with genuine quality on this track.  The closing section is superb and, dare I say, the long fade out has not so much as a dust tick.  Mint- - and across the entire side there is just one barely audible tick!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The piano intro on 'Time' has no intrusion you will not be surprised to hear and is 'as new'.  As the volume increases the audio is superb and the first brief silence is totally silent.  The next quieter vocal is perfect and thereafter plays to the same high standard.  Another classic in the Bowie catalogue it plays with stunning precision throughout and Mint is again deserved.  Being a fan I can get a little 'over-enthusiastic' with perfect audio but really the sonic quality here is just OUT OF THIS WORLD!!  The long final piano note - an example of the clarity again - just perfect.
'The Prettiest Star' and 'Let's Spend The Night Together' both play with unbelievable quality with no sign of any intrusion.  No exaggeration, no over-zealous selling tactic (!) the sonic quality is absolutely stunning in every way and both grade as Mint without question.
The unmistakeable intro on 'The Jean Genie' is faultless and the opening vocal is just as strong.  The first chorus has no interference and it continues to play with such impressive audio for a powerful track.  The depth and resonance of the audio is very obvious and clarity is 'up there' also.  For once there is barely any distortion during the choruses - it truly is a superb version.  Mint-
I'm getting bored of saying it (!) but the piano intro on 'Lady Grinning Soul' plays with 10/10 clarity with not even a single dust tick and the opening vocal is equally as clean.  From then on it plays beautifully with zero intrusion and you have to marvel at just how clean and precise the audio is.  Bowie's vocal is perfect and the closing instrumental often plays with some inner groove distortion but, as I often say, if there is any here it is so so minimal.  No more than what you would have heard if you had bought this vinyl back in '73!  The long fade out again plays perfectly and Mint- is richly deserved.  A serious contender for album of the month!!
The Gatefold, Lyric Inner & Fan Club Insert
The iconic cover is in superb condition and has none of the spotting / staining that you so often see.  The edges and wide spine are incredibly clean and the corners have no obvious wear either.  The opening edge is pristine and the front cover is also in lovely condition with only some faint type print marking, that's the best way to describe it I think.  It's minimal and does not detract from the overall look.  The back cover is stunning, a pure white background without any marking and the inside of the gatefold is just as impressive with not one single spot, a genuine rarity!  This is a fine example of its kind and I do believe Near Mint- is a fair grade.
The thick card inner is often found in poor condition also but not this one!  This is one of the best I have ever seen with only minimal rubbing on the edges and just one minor 'rub' on each side caused by the compression of the record.  There is also one very small corner rub and a couple of tiny rubs on the opening edge.  A superb example though.
The fan club insert is in excellent shape and the inside details have not been completed.  It is so clean with no spotting or marking and has just a little creasing top right and a smaller crease bottom right.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
