Description
Offered for sale is a set of 6 rare 7" vinyl records by David Bowie. Two of them are UK issues; the other four are releases from mainland Europe. All come complete with their original picture sleeves. The titles are as follows:
'Knock On Wood / Panic In Detroit' - released UK in 1983, as part of the collectable Lifetimes Series. This has a 4-prong push-out centre; all of the other records come with a wide jukebox centre as originally issued.
'Fashion / Scream Like A Baby' - released in the UK in 1980.
'Under Pressure / Soul Brother' - released in Germany in 1981, credited to Queen & David Bowie.
'China Girl / Shake It' - released across Europe in 1983.
'Blue Jean / Dancing With The Big Boys' - released in the Netherlands in 1984.
'Absolute Beginners / Absolute Beginners (Dub Mix)' - released across Europe in 1986.
Greatest Hits (4) - In and Out of Love / Reflections / The Happening / Forever Came Today.
Greatest Hits 9 - Love Child / Some Things You Never Get Used To / Only Sixteen / Shake.
The records are all in generally good condition considering their age. The vinyl itself is good, there are a few light surface marks and light scratches but nothing major and all sides play fine. The labels are generally fine, with only minor spindle marks. But please note the 'Panic in Detroit' side has a previous owner's sticker on the top of the label (please see the pictures).
As previously mentioned, these records are housed in their original picture sleeves. These are showing some light creasing and signs of ringwear. The 'Knock on Wood' sleeve has the same previous owner's sticker in the top left corner on the back (as on the B side label). The 'Blue Jean' sleeve also has a previous owner's name written on the rear (please see the pictures) But they are all in fairly good condition given their age, and all have protected the records well.
All in all, this is a nice set of these harder-to-find records from David Bowie, complete with their picture sleeves, that still have plenty of life left in them for a collector or fan.
