Description
The Dave Clark Five , formed in Tottenham in 1959 & originally comprised : Dave Clark, Mike Smith, Dennis Payton , Rick Huxley & Lenny Davidson. They disbanded in 1970. This is an increasingly rare and collectable L.P. by them , recorded in 1968 & released the next year, on the Columbia label, SX6309. It consists of 14 tracks from between 1964-69.
It is the more sought after Mono 1st. pressing , Matrix 1 on both sides, with the original inner sleeve bearing the 'Patents Applied For' notation. This inner shows other contemporary albums such as from Cilla, Pink Floyd, The Beatles & other less well known artists who recorded for E.M.I. The matt, flip back, Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve also shows the legend 'Patents Pending' , denoting a very early copy.
Side 1 ( Go!!) - Just a Little Bit Now, Maze of Love, Return My Love, Best Day's Work, Who Do You Thing You're Talking To ,Got Love if You Want It , The Red Balloon. Side 2 -(Slow) - Please Stay, Devoted to Me , 3406, Away From The Noises, When I Am Alone, I Still Need You, No One Can Break a Heart Like You.
Record in Excellent condition . The sleeve has some ring wear & a small name written in biro on the back so VG+/EX. Minus.
Records graded in line with The Record Collectors Grading System as shown below:
Mint (M) Record is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration of sound quality. The cover, lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition . Some may be sealed or unplayed. Excellent (EX.)Record shows signs of having been played but there is little lessening of sound quality. An excellent cover may have slight wear and/ or creasing. Very Good (VG.) Record has obviously been played many times , but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and light scratches. A very good cover shows normal wear and tear for its age with no major defects. Plus(+) or Minus(-) is used to show that the item lies between grades. Company sleeves are not graded!
All records have been played to check sound quality (apart from Mint) . They have been played on a hi-fi system using a Shure M75ED Type 2 cartridge, tracking at 1.5gms.
