The first solo album by Daryl Hall, produced by Robert Fripp of King Crimson fame and his Frippertronics overlay production style. Fripp produced so many greats; David Bowie, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads, and more. Recorded in 1977, Hall’s label RCA held the album on the shelf for three years as the label balked at the original avant-garde sound. RCA feared that fans of Hall and Oates would be alienated by the change of style, in those days labels wielded their power over artists and managers. Incensed, Daryl Hall and Fripp sent cassette tape copies to prominent rock journalists and radio programmers that created the demand for the release…Daryl Hall was more than a pop song master, and this artistic side project was the evidence.
