Absolutely superb copy of this first pressing.
Matrix numbers A2/B2
Solid blue triangle!
Because this is such a valuable item, I want to be scrupulously honest about its condition.
The vinyl:
I have played both sides of this album to make sure that it sounds as good as it looks. It does.
Both surfaces are clean and glossy and on first appearances look almost mint. In a strong light you can just see some very light hairline scratches that look to be from removal from the inner sleeve, and a minor mark on side 2, but these in NO WAY affect the sound of the record.
There are no pops, cracks, jumps, hiss etc. The only extraneous sound I could detect is a slight crackle on the lead-in- that's it!
I have a brand new 180gm version of this album which had exactly the same amount of crackle straight from new.
Only very minor spindle wear, and both labels are ex++ too.
I would class both sides as ex+ to ex++.
The cover:
I would rate this as EX. There is some ring wear and the top and bottom corners of the spine and front edge are a bit rough, but overall, very clean for its age.
The Inner Sleeve:
Original, no tears!
The contents:
The original poster is still inside the cover. I would class this as EX++. No rips, tears or creases (apart from the original folds of course!). However, there are some light marks on the back- possibly heat, possibly moisture, but nothing that shows through.
Sadly, some time in the last 42 years one of the original stickers has been lost. The other one is still intact but creased in one corner. (I can supply modern replacements if required from my 180gm copy- I'm not precious about these things!).
So to summarise-
+ points:
- Solid blue triangle
- A2/B2
- Superb sound quality
- fully original poster and sticker
- points:
- Not entirely mint vinyl
- One sticker with minor damage, one missing
- Some minor wear to the cover.
You will be hard-pushed to find an A2/B2 version of this album in better condition without a time machine!
I will post this well-packaged fully insured - too valuable not to!
