 This is an original US First Pressing of Danzig. The first album from this Punk / Metal god, Glenn Danzig of The Misfits and Samhain. The album is one of the greatest records ever made. A lot of people would dismiss Danzig for all the evil imagery but they are truly missing out. Not since Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison has anyone had a voice like Glenn's. The album is steeped in Blues with a Hard Rockin' Metal drive. Best known for the song Mother and She Rides, the whole album is stellar. Of course they couldn't have played Twist of Cain on MTV for obvious reasons. Glenn apparently likes the mystery behind the mask as he has never been one for much media attention. In fact if it wasn't for Beavis and Butt-head, the song Mother would never have become a radio hit like it did. If your a fan of Deth Red Sabaoth you need to see where it all began. He also has the tightest line up he's ever had with Eerie Von on Bass, John Christ on Lead Guitar and Chuck Biscuits on Drums. A Treat for the ears.

 It's worth it. This one is in Awesome condition. The Cover is tight with minimal wear. The album would grade Near Mint to most but there are a couple sleeve scuffs so I knocked it down a grade to Excellent. Hard to believe someone didn't jam the you know what out of this when it came out. I played my copy for a solid year. The inner sleeve is perfect with the lyrics and the Def American logo on the other side. How does it play? The record play grades at Near Mint. No noise only pure High Fidelity. It has been cleaned on a VPI 17F, in my opinion this is the best record cleaner on the planet.

Pricing 

A note about pricing. I sell mainly at record shows around the country because I believe that a collector should be able to view the record they are about to buy. I sell to some of the biggest record dealers on eBay. If your familiar with records on eBay then you know who I'm talking about, the guys that can get three times the price for a record I sold them for fifty. God Love Em. The prices I sell my music are based on what I have sold copies in the past. I am not interested in what some goodwill / garage sale wrangler got out of his beat to death copy and there are too many pricing this way with disregard for condition. They have no idea how to grade or have any business selling records. I have a great reputation for finding above average condition rarities and I pay big money for collections. I only do eBay occasionally to help support my own record habit. I go to great lengths to visually grade (100 watt light bulb), play grade (VPI 19 Mk-19 MK IV w/ Dennon DL-103R cartridge), and lastly I clean every Long Play and some 45s (2 x VPI 17Fs), the finest in the industry. This is unbelievably time consuming but its worth it too bring the best records to my customers. Lastly, Condition is of the upmost importance. You can find junk records anywhere. If you want something that you can play and treasure for years to come then understand that top grades command top prices. Thanks.

GRADING SYSTEM

Mint = only reserved for Sealed Lps 10/10

Near Mint = the record may have been played once or twice on good equipment. Near Mint vinyl should sound New when dust is cleaned off and the records played with a properly aligned cartridge and good needle. A Near Mint cover should be one that either looks new or still has the shrink wrap on it. Near Mint is usually reserved for record collectors that don't mind spending premium in order to get the best quality copy of a recording. 9 out of 10

Excellent = 8 out of 10 The need for exellent has replaced what we used to call VG++. A record should have maybe one blemish such as fingernail or scuff that does not affect play. It should be veiwed as Near Mint to most collectors, but for the super picky collector such as myself it is veiwed as 8/10.

Very Good + = VG+ is a grade that I use for most lps that have been played a handful of times with care. It may have one or two scratches (should not be feelable with finger) that DO NOT affect play or some sleeve scuffs from being pulled and played. When put on your record platter a VG+ record should sound great. There should not be background noise (when properly cleaned) or pops, skips, or any other distracment from the music. You should be able to listen to a VG+ record time and time again and enjoy it. 6,7 out of 10

Very Good = Record has been played numerous times or not stored properly, such as party records that were stacked on top of each other instead of being returned to the inner sleeve. Will play with background noise but will not hurt your needle. 5 out of 10
