Description

From a loft clearance in my daughters Victorian house….

a huge collection of  78 rpm records  & 2 vintage record players.

 

Dansette Conquest Auto model

All original and complete. The case is in  original red and cream and in good condition as can be seen in photos.

Internally, it has a BSR auto record deck.

The record player powers up and works but ‘runs slow’  when  playing.

Volume and tone controls work,  so it may just need a good service after being unused for many, many years.

 

Regentone ‘Handy Gram”

Also in original case  which externally looks very good.

Internally, it also has BSR record deck .

This has be removed at sometime in the past and has not been refitted so it is loose in the case.

This is obviously classed as not working, but in the right hands could probably be fixed.

The exterior of the case certainly makes restoration worthwhile.

 

With these two record players is a huge collection of

 

78 rpm records  ….. a total of  570 records ……see photos

 

These date from the 1930’s, 1940’s and 1950’s and make an incredible collection.

 

 Some are in old Columbia record albums  and original record boxes, but these have seen better days.

There are some rare record collections by a number of artists.

 

The Andrews Sisters .......20 records

Donald Peers     Album of 14 records

Bing Crosby    …………….lots  & lots !

Richard Tauber    44 records

+ others not listed..

There are a few classical records including ….

 

Enrico Caruso   11 records

Handel....The Messiah …album of  12 records

 

There are records by people from the 1920's, 1930’s and  1940’s that I don’t personally know.

There are also records by artists from the 1950’s which  I do remember !

These include........

 Doris Day, Pat Boone, Andy Williams, Eddie Fisher, Slim Whitman

Lita Roza, Billy Cotton, Russ Conway, Eddie Calvert, Rosemary Clooney and others.

 

Just as interesting are many of the paper record sleeves  and record labels from companies long since gone……

Rex, Vocalion, Brunswick, Embassy, Columbia, Vocalion, Broadcast, Crown, Decca, Parlophone, Regal Zonophone, etc ….. 

These must be collectable in their own right!

 

 

The auction starts at 99p with no reserve.

Cash on collection preferred.

The number of items and the weight, makes postage impossible,

so it must be  COLLECTION ONLY  from Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
