Description

Up for auction from 1958 Dale Hawkins OH! SUZY-Q Chess LP-1429. Dale was one of the very few white artists who recorded for Chess Records during this time, and this his debut LP recorded at just 19 years old with some great guitar riffs is nearly impossible to find. This was purchased by me from a Good Rockin' Tonight record auction through Gold Mine Magazine many years ago, was played once, and has been stored since with their grading system sticker still attached to the original outer protector sleeve, see scans. Their grading is fairly accurate to mine except I tend to under grade my vinyl a bit more, and explain a lot more. COVER is a strong VG++ Has a tiny drill hole from the price sticker top right over fidelity with a small spot below this where the shrink is missing, and a small corner bend, but overall is pristine with no writing, nice spines, no splits, and still in the original tight plastic wrap that is fully intact except for the piece on front missing. RECORD Side 1. is VG++ Has 2 small needle scratches at intro. which can not be felt causing one audible light pop at beginning of intro trail which are visible in the scans along with a few light hairlines is glossy throughout, and plays crystal clear like new as the pictures give it no justice. Side 2. is VG++ Has a few very light hairlines, and micro marks from taking it out of the sleeve, and is overall very clean and glossy with both sides tested again playing like new. Has what looks like a small heat mark or mirror ripple on outside of rim intro that was most likely caused from manufacturing, and can be seen when tipped at a light which I tried to get a scan of that has no effect to the vinyl play. LABELS are pristine with one tiny ultra light spindle mark on side 2. that is only visible under a bright light, and really not worth mentioning.
