DJ Muggs, together with the rappers B-Real and Sen Dog, built a sound cosmos that catapulted the hip-hop legend into a completely different world 27 years after its debut. ELEPHANTS ON ACID is a psychedelic trip. A record that on the one hand offers all the band's trademarks: the dark beats, the weird effects, the unmistakably high rap voice of B-Real, the bassy counterpart of Sen Dog. But ELEPHANTS ON ACID continues: There are moments when you think of Pink Floyd and the Doors, of jazz avant-garde and the darkest trip shop.

Cypress Hill has sold nearly 20 million albums over the course of her career, and her songs have been streamed nearly 500 million times. Early hits like Insane In The Brain or I Ain t Goin Out Like That are classics. In the last album Rise Up (2010) DJ Muggs was not involved as the main producer for the first time, but now he has returned. The album is both a return to old strength and an outbreak into a completely new world, judges B-Real. Old fans of Cypress Hill will get intoxicated with the first single band Of Gypsies, a hit with Egyptian singers, to the Indian sitar and to tabla beats. Oh Na Na, which combines the typical Cypress Hill style with the sound from films by Quentin Tarantino, is also absolutely suitable for parties. In the last third of the album, Cypress Hill pulls their listeners into an enchanted parallel world and the album ends with the mysterious TripHipHop track Stairway To Heaven. ELEPHANTS ON ACID is a psychedelic hip hop masterpiece.
