These recordings are early and very rare, before Conjunto Caney became known as Cuarteto Caney and recorded on Columbia.
Conjunto Caney was founded at the beginning of the thirties in the city of New York by Cuban musician Fernando Storch. Playing music on the style of the repertoire soneros Cubans, the Conjunto Caney was among the first groups to popularize the music of Cuba to American audiences and defined the Cuban sound of Latin music in the United States.
Estas grabaciones son temprano y con poca frecuencia, antes de Conjunto Caney se hizo conocido como el Cuarteto Caney y registrado en Colombia.
Conjunto Caney fue fundada a principios de los años treinta en la ciudad de Nueva York por el músico cubano Fernando Storch. Reproducir música en el estilo del repertorio soneros cubanos, el Conjunto Caney fue uno de los primeros grupos de popularizar la música de Cuba a las audiencias americanas y define el sonido cubano de la música latina en los Estados Unidos.

Please NOTE: I am not a record collector nor can I play 78's, so the ratings given are my best guess based on visual information only and using the VJM rating system as a guide. I also do not clean the discs.
E+. Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets (never used).
E. Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches (seldom used; no scratches).
E-. Still shiny but without the lustre of a new record, few light scratches (usually very shiny and minimal surface noise).
