Description
Cream Fresh Cream 1967 Mono Gold/Blue Atco VG+/VG.
Cover: VG+. Front is pretty nice with srangely almost no ringwear-maybe just the faint beginnings of such at top and bottom.2 pinholes at upper left corner. The usual corner bumps and dings are here.Back cover is not bad either, except for some excess paper wrinkles tending on the left side and a thin strip about 5 inches of discoloration along the far left bottom.Spine is strangely beautiful and very intact. As is the top spine. The bottom spine has some scuffing and paper separation which honestly, looks worse in the picture. Not really any seam splirts down there, though. The cover is the real prize in this set in my opinion.
Disc: VG. Visually, pretty nice under normal light, very glossy still.Under bright light, there about 10 scratches per side, two or so significant tiny ones that aren't "feelers". Playwise-this copy got played back in the day(we know it was back in the day because Atlantic monos were deleted by '68,right?).However,if you are dying to hear the mono mix on your turntable(and it is-to me-more listenable than the "wildly apart" stereo mix),this could be a good way to do so unless you want one of those really beautiful white label DJ copies I see listed as I type. I will give a play-by-play of the issues with this disc for your consideration... Basically there is crackle throughout the album. Since this is not a Bach solo cello piece, it may not be an issue for some folks. It is very listenable, but not pristine. Side 1 has the crackle starting out light and increasing around the middle of the side and remaining so until the runout groove. Side 2 is the quieter of the two, but has the one skip listed below.
Side 1 needle drop (light) I Feel Free (light) NSU (light) Sleepy Time Time(starts to increase to moderate) Dreaming(still moderate) Sweet Wine(moderate) (moderately loud run out groove area)
Side 2 needle drop(light) Cat's Squirrel (light and there is one repeating skip on my turntable of the 4th repitition of the opening riff) Four Until Late(crackle dies down,4-5 moderately loud pops during) Rollin' & Tumblin'(light) I'm So Glad (light) Toad(light)
