CREAM - 'DISRAELI GEARS'
This NEAR MINT UK stereo pressing of Cream's second album and is on the Polydor pressed blue & silver Reaction label: 594003
Incidentally, the title of the album is a mondegreen based on an inside joke. Eric Clapton had been thinking of buying a racing bicycle and was discussing it with Ginger Baker, when a roadie named Mick Turner commented, "it's got them Disraeli Gears", meaning to say "derailleur gears," but instead alluding to 19th Century British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli. The band thought this was hilarious, and decided that it should be the title of their next album. Had it not been for Mick's turn of phrase, the album would simply have been titled "Cream."

Housed in a front laminated 'Ernest J. Day' printed cover with front panel designed by Martin Sharp (who lived in the same building as Clapton at the time), and with back-cover photography by Bob Whitaker who was responsible for many memorable images of The Beatles, including the controversial "Yesterday and Today" 'Butcher' cover.
Complete with an original poly-lined inner-sleeve.

A superb set with just two or three faint spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which are 'as new' and completely unmarked but no strong daylight and reveal just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp. Tough to upgrade this one.
Sound Quality: MINT
This amazing sounding copy has clearly been barely played and the sound quality is guaranteed wonderful and flawless throughout, with no audible distractions of any kind. You will not be disappointed.
Cover: NEAR MINT
A vivid, vibrant a & unfaded example which retains an unscratched high-gloss front laminate bearing just a single 'thumbnail' wrinkle and a small bend in the upper right corner. All corners are sharp and unbumped and both opening edges completely unworn and 'as new'. The rear panel is immaclate with no trace of any ring/storagewear. Both seams and smooth & unstressed and the spine is fully worded and totally unworn.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Perfectly clean & white with slightly faded wording, but otherwise 'as new'.
