An original 1st issue of Disraeli Gears on the UK Reaction label. Matrix A1/B1. Please note there are earlier copies with a fully laminated sleeve, but this LP would have been pressed and available for sale whilst the album charted [within the first couple of months]. Don't get too led down 'a country path' by the whole publishing credit melee - the labels were printed up and mixed around and used in no particular/logical order. With Disraeli Gears it is important to make sure that the label conforms to 1st issue, as this one does, and does not exhibit the publishing date error "1967/1966" which can be found on reissues just six months later. The heavy vinyl comes housed in an original front laminated cover with super slim spine. Please note, importantly, 'Stereo' is mentioned on the rear in the top-left corner. On reissues the format is found in a white box in the top-right. So this cover is exactly the same design as the very 1st full-laminate variant, but just lacks the lamination on the rear. Also included is the original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity.These early copies just totally nail the audio side of things. Beautiful full resolution audio with bags of detail. What's not to like? Thankfully this copy has clearly been looked after and interference is both minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a small number of isolated moments. By and large it really is an impressive rendition and will allow you to hear the genius on offer on this classic CREAM recording.
Cover (Ex) Lovely condition and has clearly been looked after down the years. Lovely clean front with only a few light thumbnail creases. Ditto the rear, and given that it is unlaminted - very impressive. Edge wear is mostly light, but there's a touch more on the spine. Don't expect to be able to make out much of the text on the spine due to the ultra-thin design and a bit of wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A lovely example.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and no splits. Top corner has been sliced off to enable it to fit into the cover easily.
