Released by Coxsone in 1967, cat # CS7009; this is “Ba-Ba-Boom†(Jamaican 1967 Festival Tune) by Jackie Mittoo and the Soul Vendors c/w “Mercy Mercy†by Slim Smith and the Freedom Singers.
This week is a selection of the labels we have left to sell from our reggae collection. If you’ve not seen our auctions before, where have you been! Some immense singles this week in fantastic condition that defy their age. Remember, most are mint, some were unplayed until we got hold of them and all are one owner from new and have NEVER been offered for sale anywhere else – ever. You’ve dreamt about singles in this condition – now see them for real!
First the good news – the labels are unmarked and judging by how tight the record was on the spindle, the record clearly has lead a very sheltered life. However, there is an ugly surface scuff on the A-side just in from the run in grooves that goes about three-quarters of the way across the record at a 45 degree angle. So how bad is this scuff when played? – well it pops for five/six revolutions and there is a bit of surface noise on other parts of the scuff. Considering you can feel the scuff with your fingertip, I think this is an acceptable result! The B-side is unmarked and plays at least excellently.
Postage and packing for one record will be £1.10 UK, £1.80 Europe and £2.50 USA and the Rest of the World. For two records, the costs are £1.30 UK, £2.20 Europe and £3.20 USA and the Rest of the World.
Insurance is extra and will be required if the value of the record or overall consignment exceeds £28.
Payment by PayPal is preferred for all customers; though I will accept cheques or postal orders for UK customers. Overseas customers must pay by Paypal unless agreed otherwise prior to auction end.
