Description

Description

Up for bid is a very nice and hard to find original pressing of Cookin' with the Miles Davis Quintet, Prestige 7094. This has the W. 446 W. 50th St. address and Rudy Van Gelder's initials (RVG) in the deadwax.

The outer jacket is overall VG+. As you can see from the photos, the front and back of the jacket are very clean with almost no wear. There is a bit of light staining on the upper left hand corner of the front of the jacket. I think you can see this in the photo. A bit of the paper has detached from cardboard on the top of the back of the jacket though the paper still lies flat. This biggest issue is some damage to the upper left hand corner of the jacket. There's a two inch split on the top next to the spine and a bit of damage to the spine. You can see this in the photo. The spine is perfectly legible.

When I acquired this lp, the original onion skin inner sleeve was still present. There were some seam splits and tears so I tossed it and replaced it with a nice high quality sleeve.

Overall, the LP visually grades VG+. It has full gloss. There are a handful of non-feelable  marks on each side (and I mean just a few). Normally, I would grade this as Excellent (just a slight step down from NM-); however, the onion skin inner sleeve seems to have slightly (and I mean very slightly) stained the lp. I've seen this before with these kinds of inner sleeves. Sometimes a good cleaning removes it, sometimes not. I've never heard it have an audible affect. I used my VPI record cleaning machine to rinse off this lp with some ultra pure water and gave side 1 a listen. I could hear some very light (and I mean very light) background noise during the very quiet passages. After a good clean, this should play beautifully. It really is a nice looking lp.

The labels are also very clean. I could see some light spindle marks but that's about it.

Shipping

I ship in sturdy cardboard mailers and use plenty of packing material. LPs are placed in plastic sleeves prior to shipping.

For domestic buyers:  Shipping is just 4.00 media mail and 8.00 priority mail for the first LP/78. Each additional LP/78 will cost another 50 cents.

For International buyers: I ship USPS Priority Mail International. For Canada and Mexico, the cost is 20.00 for the first LP/78 plus 3.00 for each additional LP/78. For everyone else, the cost is 30.00 for the first LP/78 plus 3.00 for each additional LP/78. International buyers are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and fees.

For this item, I will include insurance for all buyers and will include tracking for domestic buyers.

About Me

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Please read my Return Policy and 100% positive feedback. I use Goldmine Standards for grading and grade very conservatively. I'm a music lover and vinyl junkie myself and have been buying and occasionally selling lps on ebay for almost ten years.
