Description

Columbia Stereo SAX 2406 ED1 Blue & Silver labels *Mozart: Horn Concertos - Civil/Klemperer* LP

PRESSING DETAILS: UK 1st Pressing Columbia Blue & Silver labels with 'W O T' tax code embossed around the centre hole on side 2. (-3/-3) matrix endings & (1A & 1R) stampers.

SLEEVE: (EX+) Absolutely stunning sleeve with very slight wear. The only issue stopping me grading 'Near Mint' is a black biro/pen mark on the back top right (show in pictures). The spine is near perfect - this has been well looked after and rarely handled. Very hard to find like this!

INNER SLEEVE: (VG+) Original paper polylined inner has light wear from storage and handling.  'British Patents No. 800513 Foreign Patents Pending' and 'Made in Great Britain' along the bottom edge in the corners.  The paper around the centre hole has ripped slightly on one side but the polylining is unaffected. No side splits. No writing. No stickers.

RECORD LABELS: (EX) Clean labels with no writing and no stickers. A few spindle marks noticeable when viewed under bright light. Side 2 has 'W O T' tax code embossed around the centre hole.

VINYL CONDITION VISUALLY: side 1 (VG) side 2 (VG) Both sides are flat and glossy with minimal wear. The album has been played a few times with some very light paper scuffs and hairlines when viewed under bright light. Both sides are much closer to VG+, looks better than it plays but it may benefit from a professional clean.

OVERALL PLAYING GRADE: side 5 (VG) side 2 (VG-) Plays well with no loss of sound quality. Isolated background crackle/static and occasional pops (side 1 has a couple of pops at the very start and side 2 has a few close together during the beginning). Light background crackle in places during the quieter music. I am sure this album would benefit from a professional machine clean. A great listen with no major issues!

Strict grading using Record Collector grading system.  All records are play tested on a Technics SL-1210 MK2 record player with a Shure White Label Cartridge and Stylus. All records are sent in correct record mailers or cruciform box with at least 4 cardboard stiffeners and the vinyl removed for the the original inner and put in a new polylined inner sleeve outside of the cover to make sure no splits happen during delivery. All vinyl is sent tracked and signed for.
