Description

Columbia Records five disc set in slipcase, SL-174, original mono recordings.  Discs are in five cardboard inner jackets.  Grey six-eye label discs pressed in the US.  Beethoven, complete string quartets, volume III, The Late Quartets.  Includes quartets #12 to #16, plus the Grosse Fuge, played by the Budapest String Quartet.  See pics for details.

Discs all NM, slipcase and inner jackets VG+.  Some of the inner jackets have small seam splits in the middle of top or bottom.  Small, neatly written notes from original owner on the sleeves and on some of the labels identifying which record went in which jacket.  These were from an exceptionally well cared for collection.

This is probably the best sounding edition of this great set of recordings, since early blue label discs are invariably noisier and also were not made to the RIAA standard equalization.  Please see my other listings for the other two volumes.

Please contact me if you have any questions. Questions asked within 12 hours of auction close may not get answered, but I will try to do so. Returns accepted, return shipping not included.

=SHIPPING INFORMATION=

The USPS has raised its postal rates, so I have had to adjust my rates accordingly. The rates quoted are still below my actual shipping cost.

All shipping is by USPS. I use online shipping to give you the best possible price on shipping. It also enables me to supply you with a tracking number for all shipments.

Shipping for the first disc in the US by Media Mail $3.00. Additional discs are free of charge. Priority Mail is available.

International customers, please wait for my invoice before you pay. USPS First Class Mail rates are only for packages under 4 pounds (usually from 4 to 6 single discs).  Any package over 4 pounds must be sent by Priority Mail.

If you pay before receiving my invoice, you may lose any shipping discounts that you might be entitled to. The new USPS postal rates vary more from country to country, so it is not possible to estimate costs exactly. You will pay only the postage, no extra charge for materials or handling.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR US CUSTOMERS ONLY: ANY PURCHASE TOTALING $50 OR MORE WILL BE SHIPPED FREE BY MEDIA MAIL.

SHIPPING DISCOUNTS FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:

Purchase $100 or more: 25% discount on shipping cost

==INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE READ==

Some very important items:

1. The sale price will be the declared value on your customs form. I will not classify your package as a gift or otherwise falsify customs documents on your shipments. This is a federal crime in the US and is illegal in every country. Any import fees, taxes or duties are the resposibility of the buyer.

2. Any purchase totaling $50 or more (not including shipping) must be insured. This cost will be included on your invoice. If you do not choose insurance on an orders of less than $50, I take no responsibility if your shipment is lost or damaged.

3. Please understand that shipping times for international packages (especially First Class Mail packages) are unpredictable and can vary from a few days to weeks or more. I have no control over this. Priority Mail is much more dependable and is highly recommended for more valuable items.
