Description

Columbia 14522 - Perry Dixon  Back To Georgia Blues/Be Mean To Your Baby
Recorded in Dallas, TX. Friday, December 6. 1929
E / E+
Perry Dixon is one of the mysteries of prewar Texas blues. On this recording he is possibly backed by the Dallas pianist Alex Moore, and maybe by guitarist Coley Jones, who made recordings on his own and as a member of the Dallas String Band. In 1932 a singer by the name of Pere Dickson cut two songs for the Bluebird label backed by pianist Frank Tannehill. Some prewar blues historians believe that Dixon/Dickson was the same artist. In any case, nothing was ever heard from him again.

Perry Dixon:Vocals
Possibly Coley Jones:Guitar
Possibly Alex Moore:Piano
