The Unreleased Themes for Hellraiser (subtitled The Consequences of Raising Hell) was the fourth album that Coil released in 1987. The album was released on CD, cassette and 10? vinyl. It was the proposed soundtrack to the film Hellraiser, however was turned down because it was not considered commercial enough. This is the only release on the record label Solar Lodge, with catalog number COIL 1. Clive Barker and Coil were friends during the early 1980s and it's been frequently noted that he was inspired to write Hellraiser from some of the literature and art Coil used to collect. Naturally he wanted Coil to do the score but while initial reports claim their music was "too scary" for the film, the reality is closer to that of the Hollywood studio wanting their own
