Description

Classic GLENN MILLER 1939 Bluebird 78 In The Mood (E)

GLENN MILLER & HIS ORCH. Bluebird B 10416 (Cdn) In The Mood/I Want To Be Happy.
In The Mood sat at # 1 for twelve weeks in late 1939, early 1940 and is a recording that defines the big-band/swing era like no other. Essential for any 78 collection. This is a very nice original Bluebird pressing.

This classic 78 visually grades a very nice E (leaning towards E+) with a few gentle signs of use. Spot-checked. The dynamic (soft, loud, soft, loud, etc) performance plays strong with just a hint of gentle surface noise in the quieter spots, typical of these late 30s Bluebird pressings. Nice labels. Bluebird sleeve. Nice copy of this classic. Good luck!

Please check my other auctions for more great 78s. I’m happy to combine multiple auctions to help get the best shipping rates. And, don’t forget, I can ship up to two 78s for the same price as shipping one. As well, in most cases, I can ship up to six 78s for the same price as shipping three.
With the ever-rising costs of shipping 78s, I’m happy to hold records for you buyers who want to fill up a box – on a ‘pay as you go’ basis, please.

Unless otherwise stated, 78s are carefully cleaned by hand before listing. Upon receiving, your only job will be to enjoy the music.
78s come in used but nice vintage green sleeves or, when possible, original paper sleeves.
I do my spot-checking and play testing on a Technics 1200 turntable with a Stanton 500 cartridge using a standard Stanton 2.7 stylus. The amp is a mid-70s Pro-Linear with the mono switch activated. The speakers are small professional recording studio monitors (Yamaha NS 10) that are known for being overly bright – great for spotting that mild surface noise!
I ship 78s as I like to receive them - using the four-sheet 10” cardboard sandwich, foam chips, 12" x 12" x 4 "(or 6") box method.
I use standard 78 grading (E+, E, E-, V+, V, V- etc). I’ll sometimes use double plus or minus signs to really hone in on the shape.

NOTE TO ALL BUYERS. eBay’s new final-value-fee on shipping charges plus the very-strong Canadian dollar has resulted in another increase in shipping costs.

A NOTE ON SHIPPING AND HANDLING: At eBay’s urging, I’m now using the shipping calculator to show shipping costs for up to two 78s.
US BUYERS - shipping calculator rates are for surface shipping.
CANADIAN BUYERS – the shipping calculator will give you rates for surface shipping. Also, since I’m mailing from British Columbia, 12 % HST (on shipping only) will be added to the invoice of all Canadian orders.
ALL OTHER INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - shipping calculator rates are for airmail. International surface shipping can take a long time to reach you – up to two months – so is not recommended.
I've had to add a small fee to help cover the extra costs of: 1. packing materials (boxes, cardboard pads, foam chips, etc), 2. eBay’s new final-value-fees on shipping charges, 3. fees incurred by PayPal on shipping charges.
There is no ‘handling charge’ for the time I take to properly pack your precious, fragile 78 for safe travel.
Please drop me a note if you have any questions.

INTERNATIONAL AND US BUYERS – PLEASE NOTE:
eBay has requested that sellers include the following information.
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

Payment method - PayPal.
