If you'd asked me 30 years ago if I would ever sell my Clash singles I would have kicked your ass. But at 58, I mean, I just don't play them anymore and I still own all the various subsequent digital single reproductions. How times change. Anyway, my kids' college saving accounts need fortification. This is the FIRST of 56 singles/EPs released by the only band that mattered. This is an original U.K. EP 9-4-1977 release promo that was distributed to NME readers who sent in a magazine coupon along with a striker found in the first 10,000 copies of the band's first LP that was released that same week; it includes interviews on both sides and of course the title track in full stereo. The wax has some surface noise and a few minor pops in the run in grooves that lead to the interview, but Capitol Radio plays great! . The sleeve is almost perfect except for some very, very nominal creasing and the images are clean and glossy. What a great cover shot.
Keep in mind I sample all listings on a full Linn Sondek setup and go in LOUD. Mostly original owner/purchased in L.A. in 70’s/80’s from the original Poobah and Aron’s Record Stores in Pasadena and Hollywood.
