Clams Casino – Instrumentals 2 x LP, Limited Blue Transparent vinyl (Type, 2011)
After a recent re-ordering of my vinyl collection, I've discovered some interesting, collectible, and valuable records. In some cases there are duplicates or they are items that would be cherished by others far more than by myself so I'm gently thinning the herd and offering a few LPs for sale.
First up is a copy of Clams Casino's Instrumentals from 2011. I live in South Birmingham and have been acquainted with Type's lynchpin for a very long time (a swell fellow and rabid music enthusiast to this day). For a while, the label operated out of nearby Moseley and I bought each release by default through the aughts.
This is a much sought-after release from the Type catalog and is the rarely-seen limited blue vinyl edition. I can say with absolute certainty that one disc has been played ONCE, and the other is completely untouched. I was actually reluctant to remove it from its sleeve to be photographed. I have a digital edition of this release which I play in preference out of sheer convenience. For the record (no pun intended) I use a very good turntable and cartridge (Denon 301 mk ii) and care for my records with an archivist's zeal. I'm not a professional record seller but both discs are nothing less than immaculate and a great investment. As for the sleeve, the shrink wrap is still in place, there is one tiny crease in the sleeve opening which I've highlighted in the images. The whole package is virtually mint, unless it was sealed and unplayed I doubt you will find a nicer copy.
Although I'm obviously looking for a decent return I am first and foremost a music enthusiast and not looking to gouge anyone with an inflated price out of scarcity. There are presently five copies on Discogs starting at over £200, running to the ridiculous and I doubt any are in as good condition as this barring the single sealed copy.
I've given this a couple of cycles on eBay with several watchers each time, this is the last chance to snag a bargain before I de-list and sell via Discogs, I'm in no hurry to find the right buyer and this is as reasonable as you're ever going to find a copy.
