 Superb nick totally deleted debut EP from the band who became Swans.

Front cover:   Laminated sleeve. The laminate sleeve is glossy, with bright, unfaded colours. Very light rubs to the laminate can be seen when viewed under a bright light at an angle. Very light ring wear can be seen when viewed under a bright light at an angle. A few tiny creases.

Rear cover:   Laminated rear cover,a few tiny creases.

Edges / Corners / Opening Slit:   No seam splits, no tears. Very minor scuffs to corners.

Circus Mort was a short-lived post-punk band from New York that included future Swans Michael Gira (vocals) and Jonathan Kane (drums). The other members were bassist Don Braun, keyboardist Josh Braun, and guitarist Rick Olier. Gira formed the group after moving from California, where he had spent time as the vocalist in a band called IDS (the band started as Little Cripples and changed from that to Strict IDS, and then shortened it to IDS). Circus Mort released a self-titled EP of inexperienced, European-influenced post-punk on their own Labor imprint in 1981 before splitting up. Gira and Kane formed Swans, and the Braun brothers went on to the Del-Byzanteens (a band that included director Jim Jarmusch) and then Deep Six.

UK Record Collector Grading System:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (US version of this term: Near Mint): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (US version of this term: VG++): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (US version of this term: VG): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits etc.
