Vinyl Audio Grade & Date of Playtest: Good (A reasonably clear sound, there is some very noticeable audible crackle throughout the tracks, there is some very noticeable background noise in between tracks, some audible crackle on the run ins and run offs, no skips, no jumps, no sticking, there are slight pops and clicks here and there throughout the record that are noticeable. Good sound quality (Playtested 6th May 2016)

Vinyl Visual Grade: Good (Looks very well played with lots and lots of light superficial hairline surface marks covering the record, there are also 6 or 7 more feelable hairline scratches on the record which do not affect playback in any major way though, there are lots and lots of spindle marks on the labels which also indicates the record has been very well played, there are no pen marks/writing or rips on the labels, there is some wear around the spindle holes, make no mistake this record has been played on lots of occasions and is heavily covered in light surface marks but it sounds much better than it looks, these early UK rock and roll records were pressed on great quality vinyl so that is why they generally stand up to more rigorous playback over the years)

Album Cover Grade: Fair (some slight creasing to the front corners, some slight creasing to the rear corners, the spine is split halfway up, the spine has some additional rubbing wear on it, there is a slight 1cm top edge split at the opening, there is a very noticeable 10cm bottom edge split at the sleeve opening as a result of the bottom flipback lip being torn off up to the halfway point, there is also a 5cm piece of the top right rear flipback lip missing, there is some additional rubbing/wear to the top and bottom edges, no other major rips or tears in the sleeve, some corner rubbing, some ringwear on the front and back that is noticeable, the sleeve suffers from some slight discolouration/staining but nothing too serious as both the front and back are laminated and this has protected it to a certain extent, the sleeve does not suffer from any major laminate lifting and just has some slight laminate peeling, there are no pen marks/writing on the sleeve, overall a below average sleeve because of the torn flipback lip on the rear)

All records are graded in complete honesty and with the utmost scrutiny. All records listed have been playtested by me and will not jump, stick, or skip in any way. I have been collecting records now for approximately 15 years and have amassed quite a collection and have decided now is the time to reduce the collection in size. The quality of items listed generally varies but most of the time will be in Excellent condition or thereabouts. If it is higher or lower than Excellent then it will be mentioned in full detail in the grading section above. Most of the records that will be listed will be from the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970s. The genre's will vary from prog rock, soul, reggae, rock n roll, beat, pop, psych. I will not be offering any classical records for sale though. I have some huge rarities in my collection and all will be up for sale at some point in the next year or so.

GRADING SYSTEM BELOW

MINT - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
