Description

Chet Baker Sings “It Could Happen To You” 1958 Deep Groove 1st pressing Riverside Records 100mm blue label / no “Inc.” on label (# RLP 12-278 mono) in a laminate cardboard sleeve. Catalog number is RLP 12-278 on labels and back cover, and 12-278 on front cover and spine. The record grading is Excellent (EX). Play tested with excellent fidelity and no ticks with minimal crackle. The following is on the runout groove:


  • Side A): (etched) S  RLP-12-278A-1

  • Side B): (etched) S  RLP-12-278B

  • NOTE - There is also the following U.S. & Great Britain (GB) Riverside “Groove Guard” patent info stamped on both sides of the runout grooves: U.S. PAT. # RE 23,946  G.B. PAT # 713,418


The outer case is Very Good Plus (VG+). The front cover itself is EX - bright, smooth & vibrant, it looks close to new with only a small crease in the bottom right-hand corner. The back cover only has some mild age wear. The top seam and spine are both EX. The bottom seam has 2” of tape at the opening which is firmly in place; there are also a few tiny dings. Overall, the cover is very sturdy. (all reflected in the photos)  All sales final.


NOTE: This original Mono 1st pressing of this album in its condition is highly sought after by collectors. The album will ship in a 13”x13”x2” custom record box with full padding and double cardboard via USPS Priority Mail & will be insured for the full sale value at my cost. The album will ship with the inner sleeve & record OUTSIDE of the cover as to prevent any possible seam damage to the cover during shipment.
