Description

The rare original deep-groove pressing of Chet Baker And Strings on the red and gold labels of Columbia CL 549. The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once. The frame cover - bright and clean throughout, with sharp corners and two perfect seams - has the important "Hi Fi +" sticker on the front, a true indication of the first issue. The top seam has been neatly repaired with clear tape; a taped label wraps around the top left corner of the front to the back corner; "indexed" written small near the top right corner of the back. Front and back cover photos are by William Claxton. Personnel includes Zoot Sims, Bud Shank, Russ Freeman, and Shelly Manne.
