Description

Cheap Trick - Samurai Rock Band (Vinyl) Live Bootleg 1977 (No label, CT-10). Condition is "Used".
A bootleg LP recorded in 1977 at a concert in Rockford, IL.  (I have no for certain knowledge of this, but Cheap Trick did play in Rockford twice in 1977, so it's certainly possible.)
Seeing Cheap Trick in concert was always fun.  The times I saw them the band seemed very into it -- a lot of energy and Rick Nielsen scaling what seemed like hundreds of Cheap Trick guitar picks into the crowd over the course of the show.  Cheap Trick has had a very nice career, but they didn't get quite as big as I always thought they would.  This record is a pretty good representation of part of a Cheap Trick show.
As with bootlegs of all kinds, the packaging and labeling are straightforward and minimal.  There is a plain white inner sleeve (not pictured) that has gotten yellow with age.  Unlike many bootlegs, the outer sleeve is made of nice heavier cardboard.  There is little to no wear front or back.  There is some splitting along the spine, but almost none along the top or bottom.  
Sites vary as to whether this was released in 1977 or 1978.  The band played the Ice House in April of 1977 and the National Guard Armory in October.  If this came from the October show, 1978 is more likely.  Some copies have a label that reads Slipped Disc Records.  There is a serial number -- CT10 -- along the spine.  I don't konw if the Slipped Disc Records are earlier, later, or contemporaneous with this version.
The record sounds pretty good for a bootleg . . . as is normal the bass is lacking, but very few crackles.
A cool and rare little nugget of Cheap Trick at the height of their powers.
