I am downsizing my Jazz collection and will be selling a number of my LP's over the next couple of weeks. Up for auction is a record I purchased from Better Records and it is a Hot Stamper of Charles Mingus "Ah Um" stereo version (please see the picture of the card which says "A+ " for side 1 and “A+ - A++” for side 2, this denotes a Super Hot stamper). Better Records has three levels for oustanding sound from vinyl, they are Hot Stamper, Super Hot Stamper, and White Hot Stamper. The sound quality is tremendous on this record, if you know anything about Better Records, they cater to the very serious vinyl collector that wants the best sound possible from vinyl. I have lost the receipt so I don't remember how much I purchased this record for. My main goal was to collect Near Mint versions of original vinyl for my jazz collection, I wanted the same for the outer and inner sleeves as well, but the main priority was to to get the best quality vinyl as possible for the best audio quality, and also to get the best versions. As far as condition goes, the outer sleeve is in Excellent condition, the construction is solid, no rips or tears or loss of material, but there is some minor bumping and rubbing at the edge, the rear of the cover shows some ghosting marks from the record itself. Please see the pictures, this is a nice looking cover. I am going to give a VG rating for the inner sleeve, the color is all there and it looks very nice, but there are some slits at each edge of the sleeve. The vinyl itself is in beautiful near mint condition, no marks or flaws of any kind, and the labels are also near mint. I will only sell to the continental United States, no international shipping.
