Cello Recital Janos Starker Aust Columbia 33CX 1700
On “A Cello Recital”, Janos Starker with Gerald Moore perform shorter works by Debussy (“Girl with the Flaxen hair”), Popper, Kreisler, Bach, Saint-Saens and others. An Australian pressing on the Columbia Label (33CX 1700), the labels are dark blue with gold lettering, and this is a “pancake” pressing. Side ones label has a “sample record” sticker. The record has a few minor scuffs and a pressing “mound” on the second track (Kreisler / Boccherini) that thumps softly for 10 or so revolutions. Otherwise it is of very good appearance, and plays and sounds very well with occasional surface noise. The English cover has rubbed a little with a ring. There are two tape discolorations along the edge of the top fold over on the back.
