Description

Cecil Taylor on Blue Note 4260

This is the rare original mono pressing of Cecil Taylor “Conquistador” on the Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4260.  The playing surface is immaculate, as new, with a high luster; perhaps played once.  The coated Los Angeles cover is also in excellent condition – bright and clean throughout – with just three very light water spots at the top of the front.  Blue Note issued only 17 mono special promotional copies for radio stations that had not converted to stereo transmission. Illustrated inner sleeve is included.

Personnel include Bill Dixon, Jimmy Lyons, Henry Grimes, Alan Silva, and Andrew Cyrille.
