Description

Cecil Taylor - Conquistador!

(Blue Note Records BST 84260 USA Stereo LP 1968)

This is a USA Stereo 1st pressing LP. It has a heavyweight matte sleeve. This has the "Blue Note Records, 1776 Broadway, New York" address on the rear sleeve. It comes with a period generic polythene lined plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has
blue & white "Blue Note" labels which are grooved also. Interestingly, the very outer edge of the LP is serrated. This, I believe, was a adopted by "Blue Note" for some of their releases at that period in the 1960's. The "Blue Note" labels have the "A Division Of Liberty Records INC." text. The matrix numbers are as follows:

Side 1: BNST-84260-A
Side 2: BNST-84260-B

"VAN GELDER" is machine stamped in the dead wax on both sides. This is a genuine USA Stereo 1st pressing of this excellent Free Jazz/ Modern Jazz LP. I have some other rare & collectable 1960's, early 1970's Jazz LP's for sale too. So please see my other listings.

Sleeve
: There is an 8 cm seam split on the top edge at the sleeve opening. There is a 3 cm seam split on the bottom edge at the sleeve opening. There is a very tiny 0.5 cm dink, or dent, on the top edge. There is light, mild or more moderate rubbing wear on the top & bottom edges on some areas. There is a small finger-tip sized tear to the paper on the rear sleeve (see photo). This is at the top spine area. There is some light, mild or very mild fading to the white areas of the sleeve. There is mild fading to the spine. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear, & hairline cracking wear, on the spine face on some areas. The spine text is mainly legible. There is mild, very mild or more moderate ringwear on some areas. There is light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on some areas too. Overall, Good+ condition

Vinyl: There is a light 4 cm surface rub mark on Side 1. There are some light, mild, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good condition. The labels are in Excellent condition & show light or very mild spindle wear only. The period polythene-lined inner sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall & Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. Overall, a very decent audio copy!
