Description
"Limited Edition: Casals Festival at Prades, Third Series, Brahms, Schubert, Schumann", copy # 905 of a limited edition of 1500, Columbia SL-135, an 11 LP box set consisting of the LP albums CL 4701 through CL 4710 + a bonus LP of early Casals solo recordings (1915-1916) reissued from 78 rpm masters. Each LP bears limited edition gold labels & is in its regular issue cardboard jacket. There were no inner sleeves. There is also a 4 page booklet featuring photos of the artists:
Pablo Casals, Eugene Istomin, Isaac Stern, Dame Myra Hess, Alexander Schneider, Joseph Szigeti.
The records: ML 4702, 4703, 4704, 4705, 4708 & 4710 are all VG++ to MINT MINUS. ML 4701 has the most problems: the last track on Side 1 has a deep 1/4" scratch which plays through, but skips twice; the first track on Side 2 has a scratch & a needle drop which tick faintly but play through without skipping; the rest of the record is quiet. ML 4706 is VG+ to M-: one shallow scratch on Side 1 which is very faint & plays right through. ML 4707 is also VG+ to M-: Side 1, track 1 has one small needle drop which plays right through. ML 4709 is also VG+ to M-: Side 1 has a couple spots which provide isolated pops or ticks which play right through. The bonus LP is VG+: it is basically shiney & clean except for a couple isolated pop or tick spots on each side which play right through.
The covers are all MINT MINUS except for ML 4709 (small scrape on bottom left front cover) & the bonus LP (partial top & bottom seam splits).
The outer box itself is VG-: it is unhinged & has a few old celophane tape repairs, but otherwise still provides sturdy protection for its contents.
