Original UK Regal Zonophone label stereo press.

Carmen was originally formed by guitarist David Clark Allen in Los Angeles during 1970. They moved to London in January 1973 and added british musicians Paul Glascock & Paul Fenton, alongside flamenco dancers, Angela Allen & Roberto Amaral. They hooked up with Tony Visconti and began touring and supporting bands, including Jethro Tull & Santana. Their first album was recorded in mid-1973 at Air Studios & John Kongos Studios. The Spanish theme was accentuated on stage by a specially amplified dance stage and interplays between the drummer Fenton & flamenco guitarist Allen with the dancers!

This is the original issue with the red Regal Zonophone labels, with the earliest A-1 B-1 matrices and 1-A 1-H stampers of the very 1st presses.
  The Garrod & Lofthouse textured matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light edge/corner wear and a little storage rubbing/creasing on the outer cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the company inner is intact, discoloured & in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief, low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, clear and loud listen.   The matrix nos. are; SRZA-8518, A-1 stamper 1-A, B-1, stamper 1-H. This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1973 UK stereo issue of this album!
