SUN 287. GLAD ALL OVER/ LEND ME YOUR COMB. 10" 78 RPM. Have you ever been talking to someone when they casually mention that they have a crate full of unplayed Sun 78's ? Me neither - until yesterday that is. Here's the story: These 78's originally were in a warehouse in Camden, NJ. As the 78 era came to a close the remaining stock got shoved further and further back into a dark and distant corner. As more time passed nobody remembered they were even there. When the warehouse closed in the early 1970's they were uncovered. These 78's were sold to an owner of a used record store at the Pennsauken Mart. They were put out briefly for sale. However by 1975, when very few had sold, it was apparent that at that time nobody gave a damn about 78's. They were regarded strictly as an obsolete format. The owner boxed them up and put them in storage where they remained until last week. If I wanted to make the absolute most money I would offer one copy as an auction with no mention there were more copies. However, I would feel forever guilty about that first person who ended up paying the most. Considering that, the fairest thing to do is offer multiple copies at a set sale price. All copies are unplayed and come in the original brown paper sleeve. At most there is some light storage wear, HOWEVER a needle has never touched the surface of the record. The labels are clean on both sides. The 78's will be sandwiched between rigid cardboard, wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped in an oversized box. I will be on vacation between 7/27 and 8/7 and will not be able to ship or answer questions during this period.
